Thistlegorm & Ras Mohamed Day Safari

Don’t miss the opportunity to dive one of the world’s most famous wrecks in the world surrounded by beautiful marine life. This is an unforgettable dive experience. Located in the Sharm area, sunk during the second world war in the 1940’s, the Thistlegorm was a British war vessel on her way to drop off cargo to troops posted in Egypt, during which she was hit by a German bomber plane.
To this day, she rests at the bottom of the Red Sea at 30 meters. Like an underwater museum, she is still holding many recognisable items of cargo; including motor-bikes, steam engines, trucks, tanks, and more.

SAFARI SCHEDULE: You will leave Dahab approximately 3.00am in the morning, don’t worry, there is space and time for you to rest or get a nap before breakfast and diving. The trip includes return transfer to Sharm el Sheikh, breakfast and lunch, 3 dives (1st: wreck exterior, 2nd: wreck interior and 3rd: Ras Mohamed National Park - well known as one of the best national parks and best diving areas!) equipment and torch. You will then travel back to Dahab, after a small break for coffee or a wander in the jetty area.
Please note, as this is an agency lead trip, we cannot guarantee the date that it will run but can provide dates for the next scheduled trip. We will only be informed by the agency if it is running or not, the day before its scheduled date. Possible reasons why the trip may be postponed: not enough people booked on or if sea/weather conditions force the trip to be postponed, which are quite rare occurrences. We prefer to be up front to avoid any disappointments by falsely guaranteeing the trip. We trust our customers will appreciate this.
Please Note: in order to do the Thistlegorm trip you must be an Advanced Diver, certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters, or at minimum must have completed the PADI Deep and Drift Adventure Dives. You will also need a full visa for this that allows you to travel outside of the South Sinai (for more details about this requirement please feel free to drop us an email or see our Travel & Hotels page).
